The test kit contains vials A and B; those vials are for testing various steroids in liquid or pure powder form. It will also detect steroids in food, supplements or in any other substance.
The test kit will not provide you will wide range of detailed analysis but it will provide you with information if your sample contains hormone or not. It is simple pass or fail test. There are also specialized vials for detecting anavar, winstrol, clenbuterol, anadrol and ephedrine, vials A and B will not detect those substances. It is very simple you inject or drop your sample and watch the color change in vials A and B, and then you take the UV light to watch for fluorescence in vial B. It has to be 365 nm UV light anything else will not work, it is like asking can I use yellow light instead of red and expect to have the same results. You point the UV light at vial B and it will produce fluorescence, no fluorescence means fake product, no hormone present. If you get fluorescence but not the right color match it will mean that your sample is another steroid or it is mix of more than one steroid or simply some contaminations making it unsafe to use, it is fake. It is simple color test you do not need any special skills or knowledge. You compare the colors with color chart and you have all tests documented just follow the links on the bottom of this page.
It is very easy to use the test kit. You only need less than a tiny drop of liquid or powder (grinded tablet) to drop into the vial and observe the color change and compare with the chart. You use only tiny drop of liquid or about 1 mg of powder, adding a little more will not spoil the test results but try to keep at lower end. The test was designed for small amounts of test sample. The idea is to drop as small amount as possible and bright fluorescence will indicate that it is good sample.
Winstrol and anavar have special test vial (the one with yellow test substance). You need to grind the pill into power and observe the color after 15 minutes, if you have yellow - green it is anavar, if it is olive - green then you have winstrol. You have to read the colors after 15 minutes, later they will become dark and impossible to interpret. Remember you only need tiny amount to drop inside. The color of the pill (dye) does not affect the test results. The test will only react with active substance producing expected color. Take a look at the training video a blue pill was used and the color of the pill did not have any influence on the test result.
Clenbuterol / Oxymetholonel and Ephedrine have also special test vials. The color has to be read within reasonable short time it means just after dropping the sample into the vial, for clenbuterol it is purple, for ephedrine it is red brown, for oxymetholonel it is grey. Please note that the colors will change later making the test results impossible to interpret. The color readings were taken in the first moments, you only need to know the initial color.

The rest of steroids are tested using test vial A and B. Why two vials ? Because there are so many steroids and two vials will allow better to distinguish between them. There are two different test agents in each vial, which will react in different way to different chemicals. Any discoloration in vial A or B will also indicate presence of contamination. This is why you need both test vials to confirm presence of steroids and their quality. By using both vials A and B you get better and more reliable test results. Some steroids might give similar color (fluorescence) in Test Vial B but different color in Test Vial A. Take an example of testosterone enanthate and testosterone propionate; if you use both A and B vials they help you to distinguish them. Testosterone enanthate initial color in vial A is orange while testosterone propionate initial color is olive green in vial A but both are blue-greenish in vial B under UV light. It applies to other steroids too like deca and NPP, see examples. The colors have to be read in reasonable short time it means just after dropping the sample into the vial and compared with table or examples on this website. Then you use source of VU light to see the color (fluorescence) of Test Vial B.
You need to use 365 nm UV light. Using different wavelength will not give you the correct test results or it might not show the fluorescence at all. Other wavelengths are not supported and it is advised that you use precisely 365 nm UV light. UV lights (black lights) sold in most shops are not real UV lights. They are advertised as a 365 nm, in fact they are not, real 365 nm UV is expensive.
The logic is very simple, for example you have sample with boldenone, you observe the initial color in Vial A (Orange - Light Brown) and B (Dark Orange → Brown), and then you watch the color in Vial B under UV light if you have the nice bright orange – yellow color under UV light then sample contains boldenone. The substance in Vial B will become fluorescent in presence of specific steroid, there is no fluorescence from oils, alcohol, benzyl benzoate, color dyes etc. So under UV light you can distinguish the substances independently from other substances they are in. They will always give the same color (fluorescence) doesn’t matter what else the vial contains. Please not that our samples were done on pharmaceutical grade, all counterfeited product even if it contains the right hormone but it is cut with other chemicals might show different reaction.
In some cases higher concentration will produce different color, pure (raw powder) Testosterone Enanthate powder will give you Blue-Greenish color under UV light while when dissolved in oil it will be Blue-Greenish if the concentration is high enough or yellow - orange if the concentration is very small. There might be other factors blocking (absorbing) the UV light like different carrier oils or other chemicals (contaminations), so there might be less or more fluorescence coming out but you will always get fluorescecne if a hormone is present. This is why this test is not reliable tool to determine concentration. It is simple pass or fail.
The color under UV light is most important. Watching the colors only under normal light will not give you conclusive results. Although the vials will get dark quickly under day light making the interpretation difficult the fluorescence can still be read in vial B for a long in most cases.
If you do not get the right colors then you do not have the substance you have been looking for. Remember it is very reliable colorimetric test and it will react with right colors only if you have the right substance inside and it is not contaminated with other steroids.
On this picture you can see test of good boldenone undecylenate (right) and fake boldenone undecylenate (left), which is just plain oil with no steroid inside under UV light. You can see the nice yellow fluorescence which is positive test.
All tests were done under ideal condition assuming that you have only one component (one steroid) inside. The test will react to mixes but it is simply impossible to calibrate the test to every possible combination. If your vial is contaminated with other steroids you will not get expected results. Recently, I've tested vial labeled trenbolone acetate on GC/MS. It was mixed with testosterone propionate; you will not detect it with the test kit. It will not show you as good trenbolone acetate or as good testosterone propionate. The test result will be fail although it contains trenbolone acetate. You will still get some test results (fluorescence) but it will be inconclusive.
You can also calibrate your labmax test kit and make your own color chart, you need pharmacy grade sample and then simply record the colors. Your sample has to be tested by a lab which can provide detailed analysis. If the lab is using only HPLC or GC to test, it means that they might test only for presence of the main substance. They might not provide you with information if your sample is cut or contaminated with other substances. So it is not a good sample for calibration of the labmax test kit. Because if for example your testosterone propionate is mixed with other steroid(s), the lab result will show its presence but it will be fail using labmax test kit because of the contamination and most likely not safe to use. You need lab which provides GC/MS or HPLC/MS testing, it is simply GC or HPLC attached with mass spectrophotometer. It allows to detect all know substances in your sample.
There is also one interesting thing to know. If you have lab results (HPLC or GC) which indicate the presence of the main hormone only and it fails labmax test, it means that your sample is contaminated.
